MASTERPIECE

I saw Julian Lennon in the hallway, my inner Mrs. Ricardo kicked in.

I went up to him and said, god only knows what, and got an autograph.

I do remember him being very nice. That's Beatles' blood. Rock offspring royalty.

I've only ever heard good things about Julian.

I bet if you polled music lovers, especially classic rock, and asked them if they had to pick one ceremony to attend, Paul McCartney & The Beatles would get the most votes.

I'm not a big Beatles or John Lennon fan. I love Paul, Wings, solo Paul, and solo George & Ringo.

Not only did I witness one of the best of all time get inducted.

I got to see Stella McCartney in this iconic tee.

By far one of the most memorable moments in Hall of Fame history.

Everyone in the room loved it.

I treated my baby sister (Alana) to a V.I.P. experience.

2 tickets to see Sir Paul cost over 800+ dollars.

Totally worth it.

Seeing Bruce Springsteen inducted is in my top 5 or maybe 3.

OMG!! The BOSS!

Play the videos from the induction. Wow! that was a FREE show.

I'm crying because I can't see him for my birthday. At least I had this moment.

Watching The Staples Singers get inducted was special. They are the culture.

If you've ever wondered what SOUL MUSIC is, it's The Staples Singers.

Dusty was on the ballot the previous year (1998). She was not inducted.

Sadly, Dusty was inducted posthumously the following year (1999). She passed away 13 days before this event.

It was a somber moment in the room. 13 days before is a dagger to the heart.

She would have loved to have known she was inducted. So well deserved. She was a "real one".

Melissa Etheridge never disappoints she was a good choice to sing, Son Of A Preacher Man.

Read Dusty's Rock & Roll Hall of Fame introduction:
***Pop diva, soul songstress, camp icon, R&B enchantress.

Seeing Curtis Mayfield (by video) was a thrill, it's Curtis "Super Fly" Mayfield. He died later that year. I'm glad I was there to see him honored.

Attending these once-in-a-lifetime events seems so mind-blowing looking back. I appreciated it at the moment but I never went back and watched them.

YouTube wasn't out yet, we didn't have smartphones. I took an instant camera.

As you can see I've always been one to have a camera. I only have a few shots. I'll have to scan and post them. One is of Michael Jackson, not a good picture.

Damn! I saw The King of Pop get inducted in 2001. Unreal!!!

Putting together these posts reminded me of extraordinary moments, speeches, and performances I totally forgot.

The names that I am seeing are blowing my mind.

In one night:
BRUCE
SPRINGSTEEN!
BONO!
RAY CHARLES!!!
Sir ELTON JOHN!
BILLY  JOEL!

Sir PAUL McCARTNEY!
THE STAPLES SINGERS!
ERIC CLAPTON!
NEIL YOUNG!
JEFF BECK!
CURTIS MAYFIELD!
MELISSA ETHERIDGE!
L AURYN HILL!
D'Angelo!
and many more...

Look at the names again (sick) and everybody and their mama performed.

This is such a small room, rarified air if there ever was!  Not many can say they've been once but
5 times for FREE.

This is the Holy Grail. I've seen the Mount R
ushmore of Rock. It's hard to wrap my head around especially since I am a BIG fan of music,  musicians, and art. Music feeds my SOUL.
