Imagine Dave as the drummer for Tom Petty. I can't think of anyone who has a passion for music, musicians, and learning more than Dave Grohl. His trajectory has been beautiful and tragic. Would he have fulfilled his potential if Kurt was still with us?
I like to believe that he would have pursued all of his dreams in addition to staying with Nirvana.
He has too much to be locked up behind a drum kit. He is a gift to the world. Yes, I love Dave,

I'm fortunate to have seen Tom live a few times but seeing him inducted is on another level.
He's an artist that I remember hearing for the first time and being blown away.

I played Don't Do Me Like That & Refugee over & over.
I made my sister a Tom Petty, Joe Jackson & Elvis Costello fan by repetition.
Now she's the Elvis Costello maven. I can't compete.

Leaving the Hall of Fame ceremony, I spotted newly inducted DAVID BYRNE approaching a taxi cab.
I immediately morphed into Lucy and gave chase. Not really a chase, I quickened my pace and stopped him right as a taxi pulled up.
There was a line of cabs outside the event. This wasn't like the scene in Planes, Trains & Automobiles. lol!
He knew a taxi would pull right up in a second. If you don't know the movie reference, why have you not seen that movie? LOL!

It was AWESOME that he let the taxi cab go by and allowed me to ramble.
That's fan appreciation!

I told David that I loved his music, and probably I was his biggest fan (Misery flashback), or something like that. :-)
I congratulated him on their induction and asked for an autograph.
He gave me the AUTOGRAPH!

David Byrne is one of the nicest celebrities I've ever met.
